The Wareham Historical Society invites the public to view a display of amazing Scrapbooks by Claire McWilliams ((1928 – 2017). Her historical scrapbooks are detailed time capsules of people, places and events that took place in Wareham during the 1970s.

In 1970, Mrs. McWilliams served as Wareham’s first woman assessor and selectman in the history of Wareham and served four consecutive three-year terms. She tirelessly served on many town committees, boards and organizations during a time of great transformation in Wareham. Retiring after 32 years, she was recognized by Gov. Dukakis, State Legislators and local leaders for her dedication and compassion. Please join us, we look forward to seeing you!   Refreshments will be served after the program.
